WHAT IS AUTISM ?
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is one of the neurodevelopmental disorders described in the DSM-V. Signs appear before the age of 03.
Autism is characterized by the autistic duo:
- Significant difficulties in communication and social interaction
- Presence of restricted or repetitive behaviors, activities and interests (stereotypies, echolalia…)
The causes are still unknown but genetic and environmental causes are suspected.
WHO ARE WE ?
Autism Madagascar is an association of Malagasy law officially registered at the level of the competent authorities according to the decree n°1121/15-MID/SG/DGAT/DPID/ANT/ASS of November 15, 2015. It was created by the initiative of some parents of autistic children and volunteers. The association’s vision is that all children, regardless of their differences, are born equal and enjoy the same rights.
Autisme Madagascar works for the promotion of the rights of different people, in particular autistic people, through actions of sensitization, training, advocacy and mass communication.

Why help us?
- To strengthen us: the more numerous we are, the better we can advance our projects for autistic children.
- To improve the daily life of people with autism spectrum disorders: all donations from donors are exclusively dedicated to the activities of the young people.
- To be involved in the life of the association: to receive information about the events of the NGO, the happy or rich moments, to participate in the projects set up by and for our young people.
